Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que les organismes de r\u00e9glementation prennent la d\u00e9cision d\u2019approuver ou non un nouveau traitement contre une maladie particuli\u00e8re, il demeure exp\u00e9rimental et n\u2019est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas accessible aux patients atteints de cette maladie ou affection en dehors des essais cliniques. Pour en savoir plus sur nos programmes cliniques, consultez les essais cliniques ou le site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clinicaltrials.gov\">www.clinicaltrials.gov<\/a>\u00a0(en anglais seulement).<\/p>\n<p>Nous comprenons qu&rsquo;il y a des patients qui ne seront pas \u00e9ligibles pour les essais cliniques disponibles et qui n&rsquo;ont pas d&rsquo;options pour les th\u00e9rapies alternatives. Dans ces circonstances, nous envisagerons d&rsquo;autoriser l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la th\u00e9rapie exp\u00e9rimentale par le biais d&rsquo;une <strong>utilisation compassionnelle (UC)<\/strong>. L&rsquo;UC est destin\u00e9e \u00e0 un seul patient lorsqu&rsquo;aucune option th\u00e9rapeutique alternative comparable ou satisfaisante n&rsquo;est disponible. Ce type de programme d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s n\u00e9cessite que la demande d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s au m\u00e9dicament soit soumise par le m\u00e9decin traitant et que les principes fondamentaux de l&rsquo;UC soient respect\u00e9s\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principes fondamentaux de l\u2019UC<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L\u2019acc\u00e8s ne compromettra ni les essais cliniques qui d\u00e9terminent si le traitement est s\u00fbr et efficace ni les voies r\u00e9glementaires responsables de la d\u00e9cision d\u2019approuver le traitement.<\/li>\n<li>Le patient est atteint d\u2019une maladie potentiellement mortelle et le m\u00e9decin estime qu\u2019il n\u2019existe pas d\u2019autres traitements satisfaisants sur le march\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Le patient peut potentiellement tirer profit du traitement et il existe des preuves scientifiques que les bienfaits potentiels l\u2019emportent sur les risques pour l\u2019innocuit\u00e9 du patient.<\/li>\n<li>Fournir l\u2019acc\u00e8s ne compromettra pas la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019Apellis \u00e0 effectuer les t\u00e2ches essentielles qui sont n\u00e9cessaires pour offrir des traitements efficaces aux personnes souffrant des maladies que nous cherchons \u00e0 traiter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Apellis n\u2019accepte actuellement pas les demandes d\u2019usage compassionnel au Canada.
